Description:

Cosmo 201 is an emulation of the much loved Casio CZ-1000 from
"the good old 1980's when things were so uncomplicated" (sorry ELO).
Unfortunately most of the CZs have gone loopy by now and had to be
upended into a dumpster. And for those of us who took the time to
get to know our CZ's, that still counts as one of the saddest days
of our lives.

Well here's the next best thing: Cosmo 201 VSTi - guaranteed not to
lose it's patches if not turned on for a week (not really but you
get me, right?). Ok it's not 100% accurate because of the ADSR en-
-velopes instead of the 8-stage ones the Casio had but the idea here
was to re-create the sound of the lost classic and by all feedback I
have done just that. Other differences are the addition of an analog
filter + overdrive and crude FM from the LFO; but don't worry they
don't get in the way if you don't want them.

Included is the default sound bank which has 32 presets that show how
all the features work together to create sounds from each of the major
sound categories.

И напоследок — о звуке. Я согласен с распространенным мнением, что в Nuendo 3 звук стал значительно лучше. Особенно это заметно при сравнении звучания одних и тех же VST-инструментов (или ReWire-приложений) в разных версиях Nuendo — предыдущей и последней. В чем причина отличий в звуке? Напрашивается вывод о существовании так называемого "звука хост-приложения". Не буду углублятся в эту тему, просто порадуемся тому, что наконец-то появилось хост-приложение, звучание которого удовлетворяет потребностям сегодняшнего дня.
