The Berlin State Opera is back at its place of origin: Unter den Linden! After extensive renovations, it was reopened with Schumann's scenes from Goethe's Faust under the direction of Daniel Barenboim.
Staged by Jurgen Flimm and with the stage design by the renowned German artist Markus Lupertz, Schumann's orchestral work transforms into a captivating drama. In the splendor of the renovated opera house, Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin can be experienced alongside soloists such as Roman Trekel, Elsa Dreisig and Rene Pape. In addition to the singing roles, the main characters Faust, Gretchen and Mephistopheles are played by well-known actors Andre Jung, Meike Droste and Sven-Eric Bechtolf.
