The Font Company Inc


The Font Company was founded in 1988 and are currently based in Phoenix, Arizona (USA). They have a diverse collection of about 400 fonts that includes historical revivals as well as contemporary designs. Especially notable is the large selection of fonts licenced from the collections of Alphabet Innovations and TypeSpectra.

The Font Company Type Library contains every style possible and includes bookfaces, scripts, titling, display, black-letter, calligraphy, classic and contemporary. In 1993 the Font Company was merged into Precision Type Foundry.

Haas Unica | 8 styles | OpenType (converted from Mac PS Type 1, original kerning, autohinting, programmed ligature feature)

Typedesign by Team’77 (André Gürtler, Christian Mengelt, Erich Gschwind), 1977, under contract to Haas Typefoundry, as new sans serif typeface for Haas photo-typsetting, followed by the use for digital-typesetting systems of Linotype. Conception of a balanced font program and design of the 8 basic fonts: Regular and Italic, Light and Light Italic, Medium and Medium Italic, and Bold with Bold Italic.

Presently, the Linotype and Scangraphic foundries both claim ownership of the type family. Because of this, Haas Unica is commercially unavailable.
